Comments: Oskar Schindler - what an incredible human being. He had the courage to act when most people would have been content to turn away and save their own skins. In a world gone mad, he gave the Jews hope and refuge and treated them with dignity and as human beings. Truly inspirational. To Anna - thank you for choosing to live with dignity and as a human being. We can never imagine what you went through. As human beings we should do everything in our power to never let such a thing happen again

Comments: Having studied the holocaust and read survivors storys you would hope that this would never happen again but as we know it has, we need to make future generations aware an create a better understanding of what and why this happened, but most importantly WE MUST NEVER FORGET!

Comments: These stories of mixed hope and horror, the mysterious lottery of life, are extremely sensitising...yet I feel also for Oscar Shindler, that of 1200 people none sought him out to see how he wa. I suppose in a way he was martyred for what he achieved...and died in a purity of doing somethings so good for people yet was left alone and unthanked, his reward hopefully coming in a better world than the one we, since that horrific war, seem determined to make as brutal and bestial and immoral as possible. Look around...tell me what has changed for the better, when people KNOW what can happen, people are still alive who experienced it...yet since 1945 it has never stopped. Look around at who perpetuates the horrors and you will see your own Government.

Comments: I had seen the movie and was shocked, even after learning about it all through school years ago and then I just now read the book. One becomes attached to the persons' in it whose lives were so blistered by that horrific time. Then to realize that there were so many others not even touched upon in its pages is a staggering jolt. I will always be wrenched with grief and at the same time joy whenever I think of it. One would think that there just had to be more like Schindler...but there wasn't was there? God bless you, your's, and all offspring to come!

Comments: Went to read about the Schindlers and found a link to your site. What a extraordinary man Oscar Schindler was. Reading about the hardship Anna Duklauer went thru with the nazi and communists, I ask what would I have done? I have no answer to what my own behaviour would have been. Mankind produce individual like Oscar & Emilie Schindlers, Raoul Wallenberg I hope we learn from them. Bjorn Hansson

Comments: I am an author on the Holocaust, and marvel at such men as Oscar. I do wonder however, if we can afford to forget people like Rudolf Kasztner? Remarkably, 11,000,000 Jews were targeted at Wannsee, 5,000,000 survived thanks to such men as these and a great deal of luck. In Ireland 4,000 Jews escaped Hitler's intention. In Britain over 330,000 Jews escaped that Holocaust dragnet. Surely Kasztner too must be recognised as having saved the world entire. Patrick
