Practically grew up on it in the 1990s. My grandparents owned it and used it as a "house boat". I grew up thinking this was normal. My Grandparents, Larry and Wanda Sanderson owned it from 1983-ish to sometime after 1998. I wasn't born until 1986 so I am not sure when they purchased it. When I was a child growing up, I thought it was perfectly common to spend many weekends on the USS Advance. We always just called it "the Ship".
