He served as Operations Officer. We lived in Long Beach at the time. Subsequent ships that he served on are: USS Leonard F. Mason DD-852, USS McMorris DE-1036, USS Summit County LST-1146, USS Coontz DLG-9, and USS Towers DDG-9. He was CO of the Summit County and the Towers. He also served as commander of Comcrudesgru35 out of San Diego.
