The crew of the Force did two things really well, work hard and play hard. Great bunch of guys to serve with. Think of that wooden boat often and the folks who served on her. MSO-445 you are gone but not and will not be forgotten. Mahler 5 Thu November 19 2009 - 14:58:23 Fullname: Vanuel G. Baker Rate/Rank: QMCS (Ret) Email: havanaba@bellsouth.net Where are your from?: Havana, Florida (Presently) Comments: I am proud to say I'm a Plank-Owner of the Force. Served aboard her for a year before going aboard the Firm, another fine ship. You might say they are the two ships that gave me the experience of growing up. As you well know, on a "Sweep", if there was something to be done, you had to do it, as there wasn't too many others to do it for you. Regards to all. Hawaii was great. We were all young, but did well together. Patience and cooperation were big parts to the experience. Hope you are all doing well. 7 Mon October 19 2009 - 23:37:30 Fullname: Paul Johnson Rate/Rank: ET3 Email: pbjohns@frontiernet.net Where are your from?: Sacramento, Calif. Comments: Was on board from Pearl to the last day. Was wondering why the crew was interviewed after the sinking, and I mean all of the crew, except for myself? I was under the impression that I was not to step foot inside MINEPAC while the procedings were going on. After all of this time, could someone come foward and let me know why? 8 Mon September 07 2009 - 02:55:14 Fullname: Bill Ericson Rate/Rank: EN3 Email: toollnut@hotmail.com Where are your from?: Minnesota Comments: Served on the Force 1965-66 , worked in the forward engine room, went on a Westpac cruise, upon return from the cruise I transferred to the USS Surfbird that was home ported in Sasebo Japan. 9 Sat August 01 2009 - 21:22:30 Fullname: Roy Kreidel Rate/Rank: CS3 Email: rkreidel@cfl.rr.com Where are your from?: Winter Springs FL.
