Still remember in vivid detail living in St. Pete but broke down in Charleston and the space avaliable flights back and forth. A week later underway for Yokosuka and Subic Bay for Refresher Training. 9 and 1/2 months later the ship returned home. Operation Endsweep delayed our return. Guys like EM1 Charlie Stumpp and EM2 Melvin Lutmer helped me survive. The CO LCDR Mitchell seemed not to like me. He kept having the word passed IC3 Attaway report to. Dispite the long hours, the seasickness, the time away from home I would not give up the chance to do it all again. The commeradery, the adventure made me who I am. I will always be a Minesweep sailor.
