The City of London will not allow the event to take place due to the Paralympic Marathon using Great Tower Street turning at Tower Hill tube station. They are concerned that large crowds are expected with issues from a crowd management control and Trinity Square Gardens will be used for broadcast facilities. There is an entry dated 10/11/1927 under 'Officer's Certificate if any' which gives a number 12949 but does not give any grade. Dad was a Ship's Cook and I have a photo of him in his whites with an officer-style peaked cap. Could he have been a Petty Officer rank?
