Message Text: I was on the John Hopkinson,a "flatiron" collier running between the power stations in London and the Tyne. In the "Great Storm" of February 1953 it took seven days to get from the Thames to the Tyne, during the storm many lives were lost, most on land,but some at sea,one vessel that went down was the trawler Sheldon GY 696 she was lost with all hands,I did one trip in her in 1948, the skipper was Tommy Beasley his son Rolly was the mate does anyone remember them they were on her when she was lost.
