Your comments please.: I was on the Brittanis leaving southhampton in July and arrived in Sydney on August 1 1972. I still have a farewell dinner menu which has been signed by a waiter called Angelos. I still have some memories of the fun I had on the ship and going to school. Your comments please.: I was a passenger on the "r.h.m.s Britanis" leaving from Sydney around March 1973 to Southampton. D Deck approx A$550 one way to start my European working holiday as most Aussies did in the 70's .I was 23. It was Voyage No. 12 Northbound. Sydney,Wellington,Tahiti,Panama City, Panama Canal, Curacao , Rotterdam (Rotterdam was not planned ??) Southampton. 5 weeks of pure joy , fun and Love , raided the kitchen at 2:am to get warm fresh straight out of the oven bread rolls yumm!! . Your comments please.: Hi, I sailed on the Britanis with my family from Southampton to Fremantle, arrived 31st May 1972. It will be our 40th Anniversary of arrival next year and was wondering if anyone else came at the same time. I was 12 years old. I have lots of great memories of that voyage. I was Fremantle Port last week, and saw some photos of Britanis on the wall. Thats what stimulated me to search. How good do you think this site is?: Looks great! Your comments please.: I was a 10 pound pom on the Australis Dec 65 from Southampton to Melbourne Australia aged 19 years now living in Brisbane. A wonderful experience on a Great ship and very sad at reading of the tragic end.I have fond memories of the voyage and of the people we made friends with and often wonder how their lives changed over the years. The Australis will always be in my memories. Your comments please.: I was a photographer on the Britanis in December 1971, sailing from Southampton taking the ten pound poms to Australia, on reaching Sydney we started the Pacific cruising season.
