The apartment was tastefully decorated and had everything you could need. Cabanas itself is fairly quiet and traditional which is just how I like it. There was a good choice of bars and restaurants and every meal we had was of a good standard. The apartment is very new with everything working very well. The pool is lovely as are the other residents in the complex. I recommend taking the boat taxi from Cacela Velha across to the island opposite where the beach is quiet and pretty. We intend to visit again next year. Lovely clean comfortable accommodation. One of our party of 4 is disabled and needs a wheelchair, therefore found having the lift was excellent. Took the walk into Cabanas so often we wore a track in the road. Found the general pace of life very laid back and relaxed. Eating out was varied and good. Comments: we stayed at one of the apartments in June 08 and it was fantastic, just loved the apartment, and Cabanas, its so romantic, would recommend for couples wanting a relaxing holiday, and the local bars and restaurants are not too expensive, so thats made it even better. Cabanas itself is also very nice but you really need a car to get to town or the beach as it is quite a long walk especially if you are carrying shopping. Tom (who manages the apartment) was very helpful to us especially when we needed a doctor. The next town along Tavira was a bit more lively than Cabanas and only 15 minutes away by car was easy to reach. The children really liked the boat ride over to Cabanas Beach and the doughnuts on offer. It is large, comfortable and beautifully furnished. Cabanas is unspoiled, friendly and cheap!!(Compared to Spain and the major Algarve resorts) It has lots of restaurants serving excellent food.
