Comments: researching father's ancestry. So far, without the legal records to back it up, (have cousin willing to help in that area) he was descended from Roger Haskell B.1613 Beverly, Essex, MA M. to Elizabeth Hardy 1643 in Glouchester, Essex, MA.info so far comes from Mormon records.

Comments: Dear Carey,
Nice website. I have further information on William Haskell and his descendents b. 1693. He married Abigail Tuttle, who descends from Isaac Allerton of the Mayflower, so all of their descendents are Mayflower descendents, which happens to be my husband's line. Take a look and e-mail me if you want.

Comments: I'm the 3rd youngest son in line & have 4 younger sisters. The children of Clarence Harvey Robb & Mary Virginia Hascall, both of Hannibal, Mo.
Mary Virginia Hascall, b; 13 June 1923, is descended from Roger Haskell, son of William Haskell & Ann Hannah, part of the original family to come to America.
From what I can find the surname spelling was changed by ancestor Squire Haskell, in 1730's, for his children giving them 3 variations of the spelling.
This site is GREAT!!!

Comments: Interesting history!
My family name has been Haskell for hundreds of years as far back as my grandfather knew. He was from Poland/Russian border area. The family were well known metal artizans and engravers. I had always thought ( ? ), the name Haskell was derived from the hebrew..Y'hazcal..which means Ezekiel (i.e. from the Bible), or meaning " enlightened".

Comments: My father, David Ernest Kramer, is a nephew of Elizabeth (Kramer) Budge. I have a newspaper article that she sent us (headline says, at 100th birthday party Presidential Card Makes Mrs. Budges day). It says that "Ed" died in 1935 & you have it listed as 1955. Do you know which is correct? It also lists their marriage date as 8/22/1901. My father does not recall them having children. Do you know if they died at birth or during their childhood? I would love to know these things for my records and would appreciate any knowledge that you could share. Thank you.

Carey This is one of the most user-friendly genealogy sites I've seen. Thanks for all the work you have done - it's fascinating. I wonder if you (or any other visitors to this site) know of any Haskells who emigrated to Canada at any time before the late 19th century. I have looked at the family tree on your site but was unable to find any such reference. I believe we must be from the same line because I remember being told that the family came from England via the US (possibly Virginia). The family crest we have on a silver tea service shows a tree similar to the one on your coat of arms and the motto reads "Vincit Qui Patitur". I'll tell what little I know about my family.
My grandfather, Arthur Rintoul Haskell, was born in Montreal, probably around 1890. (Does the name Rintoul ring any bells?) I believe he had 2 brothers: Ludlow and St.John and possibly some sisters. He fought in the First World War and later married Ruth Gurnett. My father, David Rintoul, was born in 1928 and Phillip came later. Phillip never married. The family moved to Toronto in 1935.

Carey, My brother and I have been trying to track down a Wade Haskell who was from Pa. He took his boot training at Parris Island S.C.That was in 1949. He later went to flight school and became a 2nd. Lt.. and the last time my brother saw him was in 1953. We checked with the Marine Corp. Locator at 703 784 3941. They had about five Haskells but no Wade. They are checking deceased Marine Haskells. They are to email me. Perhaps he had a first name which some people drop. Any way he is a Haskell and thought you would want to add to your other names.
