Thanks for all the work you have done - it's fascinating. I wonder if you (or any other visitors to this site) know of any Haskells who emigrated to Canada at any time before the late 19th century. I have looked at the family tree on your site but was unable to find any such reference. I believe we must be from the same line because I remember being told that the family came from England via the US (possibly Virginia). The family crest we have on a silver tea service shows a tree similar to the one on your coat of arms and the motto reads "Vincit Qui Patitur". I'll tell what little I know about my family. My grandfather, Arthur Rintoul Haskell, was born in Montreal, probably around 1890. (Does the name Rintoul ring any bells?) I believe he had 2 brothers: Ludlow and St.John and possibly some sisters. He fought in the First World War and later married Ruth Gurnett. My father, David Rintoul, was born in 1928 and Phillip came later. Phillip never married. The family moved to Toronto in 1935.

He later went to flight school and became a 2nd. Lt.. and the last time my brother saw him was in 1953. We checked with the Marine Corp. Locator at 703 784 3941. They had about five Haskells but no Wade. They are checking deceased Marine Haskells. They are to email me. Perhaps he had a first name which some people drop. Any way he is a Haskell and thought you would want to add to your other names.
