Comments: I've been searching for my gr-gr-gr grandmother Haskell for a very long time. I found her & her family on your extensive genealogy! WOW!
Looks like I'm also descended from William of Somerset England and then from:
- William & Mary Tybott Haskell
- Benjamin & Mary Riggs Haskell
- Patience Haskell & John Roberts
- John Roberts, Deacon & Mary Lane
- Sarah Roberts & Elias Haskell
- Epes & Lydia Witt Haskell (who moved his family to Philadelphia)
- Eliza Haskell & George Baylie
And that branch of the tree has remained in the Philly area ever since.

Comments: I am the grandson of Elsie Haskell Whitmore. Elsie was the daughter of Elmer R. Haskell and born on Deer Isle. We are direct decendants of William (1)Haskell. We have been to the gloucester Haskell house twice and have spoken to Ms. Williams and her father. I am looking to find inside and outside pictures of the house as I do watercolor painting and would like to do one of the house. Your sight provded some (thank you!) but :FYI the Haskell house has just gone up for sale and the listing has some current pictures. The listing is: MLS 71270140 if you would like to look it up. I only wish I lived back there and would contact an agent to get me in and take many photos of the house!!! If any Haskells back there do this PLEASE contact me to borrow your pictures!!
Many thanks for your great sight!

Comments: My Great-Grandmother was Mary Elizabeth Haskell;one of Anthony Porter Haskell's several children with his fourth wife Margaret Newman. Mary Elizabeth Haskell married Hubert Smith and they had three children, when she divorced him she changed her name back to Haskell as well as the names of her children. Her son was my Grandfather John Michael Haskell. I have more info on that branch of the family than you have listed and would love to have it added if possible. My line of anscestry ends with Mary Elizabeth and would be very proud to have it go on as my three children are the 14th generation of William Haskell.

Comments: Nice appearing presentation. Have a note on Henry Haskill, son of William Haskill and Mary Brown. Married Ruth York daughter of John York and Ruth Graves
Ruth m. Henry Haskell of Gloucester, deeded int. in fa.'s N. Yar. Prop to Geo. Dennison 1735. per Noyes, Libby, Davis, "G. D. of Maine and New Hampshire p.775."
[undocumented note: m. Henry Moen].
Date: 1735 Place: Deeded interest in father's property in North Yarmouth
The proof of her marriage to Henry Haskell is found in York County deeds at Alfred, Maine, Vol 18, p.59, in a deed wherein Ruth and Henry Haskell, her husband, of Gloucester, Convey to George Dennison all their rights, etc., to a lot in North Yarmouth,
formerly of John Yorke, "as said Ruth was a daughter of said John Yorke."
Hope this is helpful.

Maude married my greatgrandfather Frank Dow Clark I. My mother is Priscilla Dow Clark. I have a document received from my mother entitled "A short account of the descendants of William Haskell of Gloucester" from "The Historical Collections of the Essex Institute Vol. XXXII, 1896" It was written by Ulysses G Haskell, Beverly, Mass. It contains 859 names of descendants of William Haskell who came to America in 1635 with his brothers Roger and Mark. Your info has provided me with additional data not in the "short account". Does anyone have data going back before the William buried at St Stephen in England?

Comments: Hello Carey
My new Haskell website has the family history of my husband's English lines plus more to come. It also has our other trees for the Cairns, World, Willis and Clarke families.
It was a bit tricky choosing a Website name as all the shorter versions seemed to be taken.I did not realise you used this term so much....apologies.
Ray and I will be travelling to Deer Isle from Australia so we do hope to meet you in person.
