Comments: This page is sadly lacking in information. You could really benefit by adding more pictures in the House on the Rock area. The deity page is worth reading though, although I would have enjoyed it more had each small scant paragraph had more information to offer. Also, in the deficient paragraph on Mithras you have made a mistake. According to Plutarch worship of Mithras had disemminated throughout the Roman world by 70 B.C.E. So, with more pictures, links and information your website just might become worth more than a cursory glance.

Comments: You have no idea how pleased I was to find your page - I've just been re-reading 'American Gods', and have been meaning to find a page exactly like yours. Very complete, and the pictures of the carousel at the House On The Rock were great (I wasn't even sure the damned thing existed). However, I do have one small problem to point out - in your Leprechaun entry, you said they're usually quite small. This isn't true (and I believe Gaiman himself states this in 'AG', at Mad Sweeney's wake). They were in fact supposed to be very tall, like Mad Sweeney, and the fact that they were called the little people was pure irony. Other than that, great page! :)

Comments: Thank you so much for compiling this info! I'm teaching American Gods in my freshman comp class, and I plan to send my students here for help understanding all of the allusions. Mr. Gaiman himself recommended your site in response to a question I posted in his thread at Readerville.com (if you'd like to go there--go to the forum--his thread is in the "specific authors, specific works" folder.)

Comments: I was doing some online research on who the god that none can remember could be. The only thing that I found was Lethe, a Greek goddess of amnesia and forgetfulness. Also, the river Lethe in Hades caused men to forget their past life on Earth. Unfortunately, she's a goddess and not a god, but that's all that I could find on that tack.

Comments: Gwydion - in The Mists of Avalon, Marion Zimmer Bradley uses Gwydion as one of the names of King Arthur, and later for his son Mordred. Could this be significant here, as a folk hero of huge importance?

Comments: Excellent website! I was reading AG for the second time when I found your site. It definitely expands my enjoyment of the book. Re my recommended book: I read it many, many years ago and was blown away by both the concept and the author's exposition on the concept. Then, when I recently visited Neil Gaiman's web site, he mentions this book in regard to AG. After that, I finally caught the connection (duh).
