World Horror in Seattle was a lot of fun, even though I seemed to have been booked solid for a couple of days in a row there, with barely a minute or two to breathe (let alone spend time with friends). The attendance for the Mirror Me reading was small but the people who were there seemed to enjoy the story, which was the Prologue and a pretty tightly edited version of the first three sections of the book. I passed my place on what I was calling "the bug panel" (but which was really more of a modern horror panel) to Weston Ochse, since due to scheduling mishaps he wasn't included. Weston also sat in on a military panel (really, who could be more qualified than a career Army guy?), which was very informative.

I will be reading a 20-minute excerpt from MIRROR ME for the first time in public. MIRROR ME is a horror novel I've been working on for a year which is about three-quarters complete. The seminar was at my academy, the Degerberg Academy of Martial Arts, and was given by Ron Balicki of Martial Arts Research System -- www.ronbalicki.com. We had a fabulous time and I tested and passed two levels in Kali. This means I'm still considered a beginning student, but I'm up to Level 3 in the MARS system now.
