My mom was American and had married a Malay man years ago. She's long since passed away, but I remember she lived over there throughout most of the '90's. I no longer keep in touch with my step father- haven't spoken to him since 1997, not that it matters anymore being my mom passed in 2002, but he raised me from age 12-18 and I was introduced to a wide world of Asian culture and food. I still remember a lot of it and can cook Malay & Thai pretty well. I bet you love the food.
