You helped me start a novel a while back and I want to talk about it and also make suggestion for 2nd edition of IDIOT'S GUIDE. Please contact me. I loved writing my novel. Where are you? Do you have another email? Janet, author of RIVER OF SKULLS 2 Sat October 22 2005 - 16:17:11 Fullname: Doug Fratz Email: dfratz@prodigy.net Comments: Tom, hello! I have to say that he is one of the nicest people I've ever met and his reading (Horn of Plenty) was amazing. I have been a fan for years and I see no reason to not be an even bigger one now. Mr. Monteleone, you're a class act and a huge talent. Thank you. 4 Mon June 06 2005 - 18:25:42 Fullname: Deidre Bloomer Email: deidrebloomer@aol.com Comments: Hello. I had to tell you how much I enjoyed your "Writing a Novel" book. I have ordered your other books on Amazon as well. I read one, it was amazing. I am so happy that you have workshops on writing a novel, but unfortunately, I have missed the cutoff period. Damn! Well, I'm happy that I have a new author to my list of favorites for I read as much as much as I write. I intend to write full-time, and started a home-based business 2 years ago to do this and it has taken off, so now I can dedicate 10 hours a day to writing and reading. King and Koontz are my favorite writers, and now you're up there too as far as I'm concerned. Thank you for that. I'm going to send a submission of a short story to you and your wife this summer. It's almost complete. My question to you is this: How can I find another workshop of yours and if i have to wait until next year, how do I make sure I don't miss it. Is it posted on borderlands site? My circle of friends are not happy that I choose horror, or psychologica thrillers, they tell me I'm wasting my talent. It's a lonely life, that's for sure. Do you offer a review of a manuscript? Would you consider reading something of mine this year and I would pay you a fee for this. Your time is valuable, but there is noone else I would rather critique my work than you at this point in my career. Let me know if you offer any private services for that, and if you don't, maybe you could start it up? what I liked about your "writing a Novel" book was that your personality shone through, very clearly. It is what made the book, YOU made that book a success, especially with the humor you put into it made it a pleasure, it was the first book I've read cover to cover in a long time. Well, my apologies for this long post, and if you'd consider having a critique service I would be grateful. Hell, I'd dedicate the book to you! (I'm not talking as editing the book, just seeing if it's something that is salable, and has a high concept, as well as, my writing.) I believe you will be big one day, you are now to your fans, but I mean Stephen King big. I believe in you and your writing. Take Care, Deidre 5 Sat March 26 2005 - 20:21:35 Fullname: Mike N. I do enjoy books from 1980, when Laymon's The Cellar was written. I know Laymon and Ketchum corresponded back in '81, about their similar subject, but NT sure has a lot in common with The Cellar--things emerging from below ground, similar in size perhaps, sharp claws, and both have great characterizations. Real people. Had you ever spoken to Laymon or Ketchum about these similarities? Seems like 1980-81 was when a lot of these monsters started emerging, as it were. I'm a reviewer for various UK- and US-based genre websites such as The Alien Online, Necropsy, Infinity plus, The Zone, Horror Quarterly...and sometimes Horrorworld. I bought BR too late to submit a review anywhere but it was a great book. I'm looking forward to B6 and your own forthcoming anthology.
