Comments: The September tour is still coming together, but so far I'm appearing at Looking Glass Books in Portland at 7 p.m. Sept. 15 and at Third Place Books (near Seattle) at 7 p.m. Sept. 17. I'm also appearing at the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association expo from 3:30 to 4:30 Sept. 19.
As for Memphis...alas, no such plans for the time being. But I will try to let you know!
All tour information, incidentally, should go up on my Web site soon. I'd like to get an excerpt from THE GOOD HOUSE up, too.
(Please ignore the "30% off" on the cover art--we borrowed that art from Amazon.com). **smile**

Comments: I positively loved My Soul to Keep and The Living Blood. I enjoyed your books so much I started to read them real slow so they wouldn't end so fast. I have been waiting for your next novel and I was so happy to hear that you have a new book coming out soon. I will be ordering The Good House from Amazon.com. If you do book signings please let me know if you plan to come to Memphis.

Comments: Yes, Peter Francis James did a WONDERFUL jobs on the Recorded Books version of MY SOUL TO KEEP--I have to confess I listened to the entire thing, and it was like hearing it for the first time. I understand he is also recording THE LIVING BLOOD, but I'm not sure when it will be released.
By the way, there will be more news on the movie front very soon. I can't wait to announce the details.

Comments: NOTB is an homage to the glory days of horror pulp, packed with every trope I could stuff in there. It's also kind of redneck Nevada, so I doubt we're similar! Have a great 4th.

Comments: To Harry Shannon--
Thanks for the kind words! I see, noting Amazon.com, that NIGHT OF THE BEAST has similar preoccupations as THE GOOD HOUSE...but what kind of horror writers would we be if we didn't want to take our stab at the evil-stalks-small-town theme? Brrrrr. I'm sure the books are wildly different. I learned that lesson when someone asked me if I'd read Octavia E. Butler's book about an African immortal while I was writing about my own African immortal in MY SOUL TO KEEP (I hadn't read hers, at the time, and went into a panic. Turned out they were nothing alike, and it was pretty amazing to see the range of creativity available within that area.)
I wish you much success, and I hope you enjoy my work. Thanks for posting.
