Comments: I liked THE CORRECTIONS too. I think I argued with Wicked about it on another board. The brother who wrote the screenplay and thought his breast fixation was a metaphor cracked me up.

Comments: I love the mammoth Stephen King books that tell everything about the characters. Even go inside their heads. As for The Corrections, I don't know about it & I don't give a shit.

I've just been reading back over the postings on this message board. I used to be a 'Horror World' regular but then I got caught up in the storm of study and college and I kind of lapsed. So now, when I post something, I have to read back over PAGES of the relevant board. Oh well, it's worth it.

I noticed a certain Anti-Franzen attitude on the board. At least one person hated THE CORRECTIONS and everybody seems to think Jonathan Franzen is a dick! Well, maybe he is a dick - I've never met him and I don't know anything about him apart from the famous 'Oprah Incident', so I don't have any opinion on him personality-wise. However - I read THE CORRECTIONS last week and I thought it was absolutely fantastic. I loved every sentence of that book. In fact, I didn't put it down until I finished it. I've heard a lot of complaints that the main characters are just too nasty - but that didn't bother me because that's why I read books, to get inside the heads of people who are not me. Anyway, the characters weren't ALL nasty.

Then again, I always love those mammoth John Irving-type books that tell you EVERYTHING about the characters. If that sort of book is well-written and interesting then I'm very happy indeed!

Comments: My book review of Larry's Serpent's Dance will be posted in the March update on Horror World. Needless to say, I gave it a strong "Thumb's Up," especially with regards to the sex scenes between Diana and Damien. Larry has promised even darker characters in future novels. As Tamara would say, "Wooo-hoooo!!!"

Comments: Romance? Ugh. :P Erotica's great. Romance? Too much foreplay & not enough sex. Or to borrow Danielle's term, Not enough "feeelth".

Comments: Wicked, although I liked some of Roger Moore 007 movies, Roger Moore was too foppish of a playboy for me. Sean Connery's best as the original 007. None of those Bonds can beat Sean Connery.
