86 Mon February 16 2004 - 15:09:51 Fullname: Jon F. Merz Email: Comments: Hi Bob - Thanks for writing. Regarding my work, it really depends on what you like to read. If you're looking for what I affectionately call the "un-vampire vampire series," then I'd say start off with a copy of THE FIXER. While the mass market is currently out of print, you can special order the collector's limited edition from Harbinger Books, by clicking HERE. It should be out around the summer. Otherwise, for books that are out now, you can pick up THE INVOKER, THE DESTRUCTOR, or THE SYNDICATE - they're all part of my Lawson series. I also have a short story called "Prisoner 392" in the Borderlands 5 anthology (available on Amazon.com or Shocklines.com) that is reminiscent of old-style spooky tales. The anthology also features stories by Stephen King and Whitley Strieber. If you like a straight-up mystery, my hard-boiled nor novel DANGER-CLOSE will be out in October of this year (you can pre-order a copy at Shocklines.com as well). I have a bunch of other stuff coming out soon, but this should give you a decent start. I hope you enjoy whatever you choose to pick up - and thanks for your patronage.
Mia - I've heard from a lot of people about the appearance of a character named Lawson on Angel. I don't catch the show very often since I write most of the day, but I always enjoyed the show. It's too bad it's going off the air. Maybe if the Angel fans get together and beg for a Lawson series, that might be fun! Thanks for writing! Best, Jon
87 Sun February 15 2004 - 21:57:58 Fullname: Mia Email: Comments: Hi, Jon. I was just wondering if you've ever watched the show, "Angel" by Joss Whedon, the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer? I'm a huge fan of both shows and last week on "Angel", one of the guest characters was a vampire named Lawson. Obviously, it's purely coincidental, but still kind of interesting.

Cassandra, many thanks for being a loyal Lawson reader! The special limited edition WILL have many extras, including: a copy of the original short story that started it all, character dossiers, a sewn-in satin ribbon marker, custom slipcase with incredible cover art, and it comes with a free promotional chapbook containing an exclusive Lawson short story that will not be released any place else. It's going to be quite the package! You can order it HERE!. As for book 5, I'm in the process of writing the first draft right now (about 22,000 words in). Provided all the special edition copies of THE FIXER sell out, book 5 will be published as special limited edition hardcover first. Thanks again! Best, Jon
