More Horror World message boards 228 Tue December 25 2001 - 21:41:35 Fullname: John Pelan Email: jpelan@cnw.com Comments: Happy Holidays to all! I've just learned that THE DARKER SIDE will be out in May and hopefully FAMILY TRADITION and the reprint edition of GOON will be along shortly along with the graphic adaptation of "Transcendence". Promises to be a pretty good year... Thanks to you all for your support and encouragement, three and half months of writer's block has ended and I'm back at it hard with hopes of keeping to my 1000 words a day for all 365 days next year. Cheers, John 229 Sun December 23 2001 - 04:58:16 Fullname: Michael Kelly Email: mikelly@pathcom.com Comments: John Happy holidays! Hope 2002 is a great year for you. Mike 230 Fri December 21 2001 - 07:38:33 Fullname: Dom Email: Comments: Hiya John, I'm curious about FAMILY TRADITIONS. What's the word on that one? Can we expect it to be published soon? Also, when do you expect the companion antho for DARKSIDE to hit? Looking forward to them both. 231 Thu December 20 2001 - 03:17:48 Fullname: Murphy Email: Comments: Hi John! Yeah, it has been a long time. Years, I think (my fault). Hope you're doing OK. I'm extremely glad to hear Colour is coming out at last because I've been waiting to read it since '98. If it's in line with your ambitions, it's going to be amazing. Anyway, have a happy Xmas! 232 Mon December 17 2001 - 04:27:17 Fullname: John Pelan Email: jpelan@cnw.com Comments: Hi Murphy: Long time! Funny you should mention TCOOD... It will either show up as a stand alone from a new imprint or be incorporated into my collection DARKNESS, MY OLD FRIEND... One way or another, I want it to see print in the next year. Cheers, John 233 Thu December 06 2001 - 22:07:21 Fullname: Murphy Email: Comments: John, whatever happened to YOUR Mythos story The Color Out of Darkness? I remember you said you were setting out to write the most nihilistic horror story you could, and it was about Jack the Ripper and the Mythos, but then I never heard any more about it. Is it ever coming out? 234 Tue December 04 2001 - 20:37:30 Fullname: John Pelan Email: jpelan@cnw.com Comments: Hi Steven: I wish that I could provide more information on the Visiak omnibus at present. The amount of manuscript material to be gone through makes it one of our more complex projects. I'm pretty confident that we'll be able to put all the pieces of the puzzle in place by mid-summer 2002. John 235 Mon November 26 2001 - 06:39:11 Fullname: Steven Heller Email: apollojd@ix.netcom.com Comments: What is the current status of the E.H. Visiak omnibus? 236 Wed November 07 2001 - 14:04:39 Fullname: Brian Keene Email: Comments: If you haven't yet read John's story "Lord of the Jungle" at Horrorfind, you'll want to do so soon. It comes down on November 17th. To read the story, drop by www.horrorfind.com and click on the 'Fiction' section. 237 Wed October 10 2001 - 00:03:01 Fullname: John Pelan Email: jpelan@cnw.com Comments: Hi Simon: I certainly do remember Tim Stout, I even have two of his three collections. The only thing that would cause me to shy away from this would be the ready availability of his books. You can still pick up nice firsts from Simon Gosden and/or Andy Richards for ten pounds or less. Another blast from the past... David Campton... Unfortunately, there's just not quiite enough material for a whole book... Cheers, John 238 Mon October 08 2001 - 17:30:47 Fullname: Simon Bestwick Email: Comments: On the subject of collections it'd be good to see... anyone remember the writer Tim Stout, who used to appear a lot in Richard Davis' Spectre and Space anthologies? I think he managed a couple of his own collections, too. A really underrated horror writer. 239 Sat October 06 2001 - 00:39:47 Fullname: John Pelan Email: jpelan@cnw.com Comments: Sorry to have been misssing in action the last week or so, it's been a remarakably busy time solidifyinng a couple of major projects that I can't talk about just yet... Anyway, here's the list Eric asked for, THE CHILDREN OF CTHULHU will be out from Del Rey Books in January in hardcover with a stunning cover by Dave McKean! Hopefully I haven't made a mess of this contents list converting to html...
