Comments: Hi John,
I had asked you about your Jack The Ripper story--Color Out Of Darkness in which you replyed that I should check out Bloodletting Press.
Having spoken directly to the publisher I asked him about the above and he told me the Color out of Darkness is in his forthcoming anthology but Color Out Of Darkness is not about Jack The Ripper!!
Are we talking about 2 different novellas??
Can you please clear this up??
Thanks very much!!

Comments: John -- Truly, it was great seeing you again in Chicago. I especially enjoyed the part where I beat you at a game of pool. ;-)

I hope the con was as fun and productive for you as it was for me. Here's wishing you a great year.

Comments: Hi Bill:

No chance on the Paul Finch book, but it's very likely that we might have Mark's book done. Fredrik King has finally finishe dthe cover and it's stunning, every bit as good as his "Vampire Wind" or "Salt Snake" pieces. It took a long time and there were some delays (which weren't Fred's fault) but the end result was worth it, now I just hope that Mark likes it as much as I do. ;-)

Cheers,

John

Comments: John,

Hello, really enjoyed Darkside and I was wondering if Shadows Over Baker Street was open for submissions? It's a great idea.

Thanks,
Chris

Comments: John - Thanks for the highlights, almost felt like I was there. Giving Paul Lim a run for his money, I am not worthy. From what I've been reading the American game seems to be going from strength to strength while the British game is floundering (lots of pubs ripping out their dartboards). Anyway it was good to read about your near success.

Comments: Hi All:

Sorry to be away from this board for so long. The pressures of several deadlines and the new job have greatly curtailed my on-line time...

Keith: Sorry, no cd with HDMYOF... The title is a nod to not only S&G, but also to Karl Wagner...

Bill: You'll have to ask Ben about the dedication, that was his idea. I'm a Lou Reed fan, but his music didn't have much influence on my part of the story. (IIRC, i think the soundtrack while I was working on that story was primarily The Residents, Chickasaw Muddpuppies, & The Cramps).

Dom: Glad you liked CHILDREN OF CTHULHU, it was a great deal of fun to work on and it appears that the book is being pretty well-received by all but those that WANTED RPG scenarios or Derlethian pastiches. I'm in the midst of putting together SHADOWS OVER BAKER STREET with the awesomely talented Michael Reaves for release in 2003.

Lastly, on darts... Had unfortunate early departures in the men's doubles events, but Angie Bosch & I took top sixteen in Mixed-Doubles Cricket, losing to Paul Lim and Stacey Bromberg gooing into the semis... Lim opened with a nine-count and I fired back with seven 17's. From that point it was a battle where we came within three darts of winning (Angie and I just pounded the hell out of the bull and treble-sixteen). Getting that close to beating two of the best players in the world made my weekend. As it was, we took so much out of them that they crumpled in their next match. I needed double-bull, treble-eighteen, and treble-fifteen to close it out and hiit the double-bull with my first dart, the look on Lim's face at that moment made the whole weekend worthwhile. Unfortunately, I wired the treble-eighteen and gave them a chance to get back in the game, which they did...

Cheers,

John

Comments: Quite enjoyed "That's the Story of My Life"! My question is, why is it "for Lou Reed"?

Comments: Hiya John, just wondering how the DARK ARTS table of contents is shaping up. Have you made your final selections for the anthology yet? I'm sure the book is bound to be another winner. Really enjoying Children of Cthulhu. Excellent job.

Comments: Hi All:

SMOKE GHOST by Fritz Leiber just went to the printer, expect a mid-late February release. E-mail me at jpelan@cnw.com to reserve a copy.

On darts: After watching Taylor destroy all comers, I'm rather glad that the Vegas Open isn't on his itinerary this year. I'll be shooting mixed-doubles with the Pacific NW's First Lady of Darts, Angela Bosch and from the amount of tournaments we've won as partners before, it could be very interesting.

Cheers,

John
