Comments: Hi John,

I heard that Bloodletting Press has cancelled the "Dark Addictions" volume. What a shame. I was looking forward to new novellas from you and Mr. Lee.

It's been a circus, with launching our new imprint and turning in one anthology with another due next month. As the first one is going to get all sorts of major publicity from Del Rey, I'll take a moment to talk about the second.

We've all seen the phenomenon of authors that dabbled in the supernatural and produced maybe a handful of stories, not enough for a collection and generally lost to modern readers (unless the story in question becomes an anthologist's favorite like Percival Landon's "Thurnley Abbey"). Chris mentions Phil Robinson's "The Man-Eating Tree", most people don't know thaat Robinson wrote several weirds, but not enough for a substantial collection... Anyway, when I broached this subject with Robert Morgan at Sarob, he suggested that I do an anthology series with each volume consisting of "lost" stories gathered around a particular theme. The first one AFTER DARK: Out of the East, will be turned in next month and will feature stories by folk like: Manly Hall, L. Adams Beck, Richard Gamon, Phil Robinson, Ernest Favenc, Frank Owen, Lafcadio Hearn, Sax Rohmer, and many more.

And I'm still open for suggestions...

Cheers,

John

Comments: John,

I just picked up Feesters (I love the cover) and Echo of a Curse from Don Cannon. What's it been, 19 years that I've been waiting to read latter? Read chapter one today.

As you may know Don is planning on no longer carrying Midnight House so I plan to buy direct in the future.

Can you please add me to your mailing list so I can get a heads up whenever the next book is available?

I can hardly wait for The Subjugated Beast and Freak Museum.

I enjoyed The Beasts of Brahm.

Hey, whatever happened to Vampires Overhead? Did Ash Tree drop the ball on that one?

I get to read a scary story to 3rd graders this Thursday. Unless I can find that Scarecrow story that Joe Lansdale and his kids wrote (its somewhere up in the attic archives), I plan to read "The Man Eating Tree" by Phil Robinson.

Anyway, keep up the great work.

Best,

Chris Koreivo

Comments: I recently completed two horror novels. Pure Evil and From the Depths of Hell. Pure Evil is centered around the devil's chase of a woman he wants to have his son. This son will fight alongside him in his war against God and Christ. From the Depths of Hell is the follow up sequel. It describes how through the use of death and deciet Satan manages to break his prey's resistance. Both books contains sexually explicit material and graphic violence which can be modified to meet any requirements. I can be reached by e mail or telephone (313) 963 3959

Comments: Hello All:

Just a brief announcement: The first of two volumes of Russell Kirk's collected ghost stories (edited and with an introduction by me) is available for pre-order from Ash-Tree Press

http://www.ash-tree.bc.ca/ashtreecurrent.html

Also available (at long last) is my novella THE COLOUR OUT OF DARKNESS as one-third of DARK ADDICTIONS from Bloodletting Press. The other two thirds are new works from good friends Charlee Jacob and Edward Lee, so it's a winner all the way. You can order from Bloodletting Press www.bloodlettingpress.com I understand there will only be 250 copies of the hardcover, so it should go pretty quick.

Cheers,

John

Comments: Gearing up for Horrorfind... Hope to have a new story for my reading, though it looks like the current piece may run a bit long for the purpose of a public reading.

I might just give the audience a choice between a new story or a foul and disgusting scene fromm FAMILY TRADITION.

As to new Midnight House books, we're going to have the new R.R. Ryan novel available as well as other recent titles on the Bereshith Books table. Unfortunately, the new Charles Birkin colllection will just miss the convention aas will the first book of the Darkside Press SF line, Day Dark, Night Bright by Fritz Leiber. Our SF line will be in the same format as the Midnight House titles and will include books by Leiber, Wyndham, Harvey Jacobs, and Cleve Cartmill. There's still a good bit of horror mixed in, but there's sufficient SF content that I thought I ought to differentiate the line from MH.

See you all at Horrorfind!

John

Comments: John,
I have a Frances Faucett - I have her as a woman with that spelling - short story in Darkness Rising 9 October 2003. It's a ghost story unpublished since the 1880's. Interesting you mention her a few posts back. It's been supplied to me by James Doig the writer based in Austrlai.

Hugh Lamb did a great job for us providing rare out of print and obscure stories for Enigmatic Tales, and for the first few DR's as well. I love the feel of a 'discovery' from the past. Len found an unpublished A M Burrage of course that we published in ET before passing onto the Roden's for their series.
