Midgets? What this? Terror In Tiny Town part 55? 457 February 07 2003 at 03:00:59 Fullname: Wayne Email: Comments: I heard through the grapevine that the production company (Studio Canal) that optioned Mucho Mojo has decided to cast two midgets in the role of Hap Collins and Leonard Pine. The reasoning behind this is that the studio wanted to add a slightly different dimension to the texture of the film (whatever the hell that means!). 458 February 05 2003 at 20:45:47 Fullname: Simon Bewick Email: bewick_simon@hotmail.com Comments: Joe, thanks for the comment on the casting suggestion. Yeah, I know how it works and I know it won't happen, but I was just saying in a perfect world (Hey, wasn't that a Costner movie?! Karma links...) that would be my choice. And if we're ignoring budget/ casting limitations I'd see William Macy in a supporting role as a certain cheap-suit wearing police man... Just one more thing to say, and I don't expect a reply: it's merely a thank you- I've just been taken on by a literary agent who is very interested in the novel I submitted to him. I'd like to take this opportunity to say thanks to you. The two authors I think that got me through writing the book were Lawrence Block (who's writing manual "Telling Lies for Fun and Profit" I've read again and again) and you, because I got 70% of the book finished about two years ago and then set it aside because I was 'stuck'. Then I re-read a whole load of your stuff and read a foreward where you were saying about just writing what you'd want to read. Best advice ever. Thanks a lot. I have no idea whether the book will ever see the light of day, but I got it written and that's enough...All the best to you and yours. 459 February 05 2003 at 19:57:31 Fullname: Glen Krisch Email: gkrisch@mindspring.com Comments: Hey Joe, I remember reading years ago about your early writing days. If I remember right, you mentioned how you stayed at home to watch your kids and still found the time to write. Any advice to an aspiring writer in the same situation? 460 February 05 2003 at 19:01:14 Fullname: Daniela Esposito Email: danieladipaola@libero.it Comments: Hi Joe. It's been an amazing week hearing about the shuttle's tragedy and of course my deepest sympathies go to the families that have been profoundly touched by this accident. However, the mere fact that all over the globe people will never forget the risks they put their lives to, for the sake of all human beings future, keeps them alive in our memories. I hope that the message gets across to the astronauts' children and that they know that for all, their parents were definitely of a special kind. About the piece of tile found in your yard, you say "wierd", but since we are dealing with Joe Lansdale, I'm just not surprised at all... That's the way you usually get inspired... just by living in strange old Texas.... :-) 461 February 05 2003 at 12:44:46 Fullname: Chad L. Smith Email: darkavenger_2000@yahoo.com Comments: Hey Joe, I don't know if you'll remember me or not, but a few years ago I wrote a couple letters to you and you wrote back both times, one time including an autographed paperback of BAD CHILI, which I still have and cherish. And once again, I've put some cash in your pocket, because I just went out and picked up A FINE DARK LINE over the weekend. I read it in two days, and loved it. Thanks for giving the world another excellent novel. I look forward to each one, and I almost always buy the hardcovers if I can find them. 462 February 05 2003 at 05:26:34 Fullname: JC White Email: wbevjeff@wmconnect.com Comments: Hey there fellow Mojo fans. Just stumbled on to this board and wanted to say howdy. I have been a long time fan of Joe's and used to collect a whole host of horror authors. My book collecting has slowed down but if faced with a choice Lansdale would be the name I put my money on. Today I purchased A Thin Dark Line and I am awash with anticipation. My heart also goes out to our fallen stars. Love that cast, but ain't gonna happen. My wife found a piece of shuttle tile in the yard this morning. Wow. Weird.
