Comments: I have just been introduced to you via a quote from "The Bottoms" I read in Ken Bruen's "The Dramatist". I am researching lists of your books and I gotta ask, how did yiu co-author a book with Edgar Rice Burroughs 5 years after his death? Did you complete an unfinished manuscript or what?

Comments: Just picked up LEATHER MAIDENS from my local Borders yesterday (8/02). They had one copy and I was able to use my 30% off along with the no state tax weekend disocunt. Now if only Joe would make it to Atlanta for a signing.

Advance Praise for LEATHER MAIDEN:

"Leather Maiden is gripping, ferocious, and very funny. If you have not yet sampled Joe Lansdale's singular, twisted brand of genius, this is a good place to start."—George Pelecanos, author of The Turnaround

"If Mark Twain had written for the Grand Guignol he'd have come up with something like this. Like all Lansdale 's books, Leather Maiden walks a delicate line between grotesquerie and moral outrage all the while managing to be funnier than anything I've read all year."—Scott Phillips, author of Cottonwood

"Not since Dexter's The Paperboy has a novel blown me to hell and back. A stunning game of blackmail, murder, manipulation propel Joe into a league that includes one . . . himself. This is the novel of the year, the essence of what mystery aspires to be. It is truly jaw dropping."—Ken Bruen, author of Priest

Comments: Hello again Joe,

Eagle Eye bookstore in Decatur, GA would be a good one to go too. They promote their signings and have hosted quite a few genre and non-genre writers. How do they get in touch with you?

Comments: I'd love to do a signing in Atlanta, but, alas, no one has asked for me to be there or is paying my way. I'm doing mostly in Texas and out West. Have a bookstore bring me in and I'll sign it up. Joe

Comments: From Joe Lansdale: I just thought I'd drop in, if anyone is reading posts here, to mention that my new novel, LEATHER MAIDEN is due out in August. I'm pretty stoked about it, and wanted to invite readers who would be interested in reading it, to try and buy on the release date, Aug 5, or preorder from Amazon or Barnes and Nobles. But, mainly, I hope you'll pick it up. Following next year will be a new Hap and Leonard book titled VANILLA RIDE. Thanks, Joe

Comments: Back on line to answer questions now and then. Course, leaving out of the country for a week or so. But, if the post I wrote before didn't got through maybe this will. I must have forgot Bob, though I thought I explained the loss of Bob. Must have forgot. I didn't rush and I didn't throw the book together, as suggested, but I did forget.

Comments: I have just read my first Joe R Lansdale book and he is now on my list of favourite authors. The book I read was "Sunset and Sawdust" and there was a piece of information in it that made me very curious. The remedy for snakebite that the old lady used with a special stone sounded authentic and I wondered where Joe R Langdon got the information. Any information on the subject would be welcome.
