Comments: Merry Christmas everybody! Hey Jack, I have read Joyride and I'm really looking forward to I'm Not Sam. I have read most of your books and The Lost was the first of your books I read and it's still my favorite. Any chance of a Jack Ketchum ghost story in the future?

Comments: Hi, folks -- IAN -- I agree about crazy people with guns, obviously. Should you want to dig further into that screwed-up syndrome you might try my book JOYRIDE, aka ROAD KILL. Based on an amalgam of two such real-life wackos. JIM -- my favorite creepy-nightmare book is probably Peter Straub's GHOST STORY, though Shirley Jackson's THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE is also right up there. Guess ghosts just...spook me...best, D.

Comments: Hey Jack, I like your choice of Lord of the Flies as the scariest book you've read. Mine would have to be The Lost, by you, especially with all the random shootings we've been having lately. Nothing's scarier in America right now then a crazy person with a gun.

Comments: Yikes - that was a major blunder, huh? That's what I get for sleep typing and not reading my own posts before posting! Jimbo: What's up you ask? Besides my own brand of sleep disorder, just posted an interview of our favourate author on my blog which Dallas and his webmaster was kind enough to mention on his main page. Otherwise keeping busy reading and all that good stuff. How are you?

Comments: Hi JIMBO...OFF SEASON's copyrighted 1980 but it didn't actually come out until '81. I think the same may be true of Laymon's book, I dunno. Don't necessarily shy away from THE GIRL NEXT DOOR -- it's a pretty good movie, responsible to the book, and Blanche Baker's terrific as Ruth. Ian McEwan's a great writer. Been reading him for a while. I think ATONEMENT's my favorite, but also BLACK DOGS, AMSTERDAM, ON CHESIL BEACH, and IN BETWEEN THE SHEETS (gotta love that title... --Best, D.

Comments: Hey Jack - Have you ever read Ian McEwan? Reading his new one. Man, what a storyteller....I have wanted to ask you for a while what your peers and aspiring (sp?)writers are doing after the "Leisure" years. Is it still possible to be a viable writer?

Comments: I need to ream me some more Layman. I have a handfull of his novels on my shelf, but have only yet read Endless Night, which my wife also took a chance on. Now she refuses to read anyhting else by him. Very unsettling novel, but my reaction is I can't wait to read more of him.

This is not quite spam, as it features a nice little interview with Jack Ketchum. We are very proud to consider him a fan...and hope we can indoctrinate some of you into that fold as well. I wish you all a safe and happy holiday season.
