Comments: Hey Dallas! Just heard from CD that they are publishing THE WOMAN as well! I just couldn't afford the limited from Bloodletting, and I own all of your limited's, so this will have to do! Do you happen to have a timeframe on when it will be out? Thanks! Oh, and please send me an email. I have a question to ask about your buddy Lee. Bob

Comments: Hi Aaron,

I'm part of Mr. Ketchum's marketing team, and he sends me his comments to post on social media networks like Facebook and Twitter (www.twitter.com/JackKetchum). The film version of THE WOMAN has received tons of praise and publicity, but your mini review is the first we've seen for the actual book. Would you mind if I posted some of it on Twitter or Facebook for Mr. Ketchum's other readers to see?

Thanks for your time,

Josh

Comments: Hi Jack, I just finished reading The Woman. Intense and frightening stuff. The prose is as lithe and threatening as The Woman herself. Perfectly paced and the ending floored me. It was totally worth the wait. Thanks so much, cheers.

Comments: I'm a traveler and have been backpacking across the world for the past three years. I'd die without my e-reader. At first I was reluctant to get one, but it saves so much room. I still prefer "real" books and a lot of the electronic novels I've purchased, I'll duplicate with hard copies when I get home; including THE WOMAN, which I just bought (and Ladies Night). The Woman is fantastic thus far, and so wonderfully written. All the best to everyone.

Comments: Gail - originally, I did not want to have anything to do with ebooks. Then I bought a Kindle, mainly because I have 2500 books and I am running out of room. I absolutely love it. I can buy books without going to the bookstore and I seem to read more when I read books on my Kindle. I still love my paper books and I'll never stop buying them.
My Kindle is going to be a big help when my fiance and I move out. We won't have a lot of room so I'll have to pack up a bunch of my books. I'll still be able to read them on my Kindle though.

Comments: I did get a little writing completed, thanks. Niftyish (to me) ghost story. I can't seem to haul my ass into these modern times either. I prefer to lug around books made of paper. Have a great weekend All!!

Comments: JOHN -- hope you got a little writing done...GAIL -- I can't help you on that. I'm in the odd position of having two e-books out with no capacity to read one. I can say definitively that I like the smell of paper...though I suppose there's less risk of paper-cuts. Seriously, I'd consider buying a Kindle or something should I be going abroad for any length of time. I'm thinking bulk and weight here. My agent told me a funny story. She was having lunch with an editor -- a book editor -- who said she loved having a Kindle. "That way I don't have all these BOOKS all around," she said. What a world! Best,
D

Comments: Hi, all...well, it's been a hell of a week. That video got over 50,000 hits and my e-mail's been bombarded with reviews and such...almost all good... GAIL -- hope you got into the site. Thanks EDITOR! LORD BRONCO -- Lucky and I concieved THE WOMAN as both a movie and a book and outlined them simultaneously for about a month using Instant Mail. He did the heavy lifting on the screenplay, with revisions by me, about five pages at a time, and we reversed the process for the book, about 25 pages at a time. It was really a fun collaboration. ADAM -- HARRY & TONTO! Yes! CHRISTOPHER -- I hated the long version of LADIES' NIGHT. It went up in smoke in my mom's fireplace. Glad you liked the version I kept. SHANE -- I wouldn't say a thing to that guy. His mind's made up. And I make it a point never to defend my work, anyway. It is what it is. Leave the theatre or close the friggin' book...Best, D

Comments: By the way, here is the link to the short film I made. It is still a rough cut, and it's the first one I had done, but check it out and let me know what you think. I put it on Youtube so if you want to let me know do it there and not here as this is Jacks board.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnG0oXapmNM

Would love to get a thought from you Jack! I know it's nothing near up to par to warrant a review from a GRANDMASTER of horror, but if you would, I would love to put a quote from you on the DVD cover. I am not trying to sell them - just making copies for family and people involved is all, so just for fun.

Also if anyone writes anything in the youtube comments I will pick 2 quotes from there and put them on the DVD as well as send you a copy! just put "JKM" at the end of your message so I know you came from this awesome community to do it!(even if its negative haha)

Comments: Jack,

In response to the video you posted showing the guys reaction to "The Woman", I would love to know - What would you have said to him had you been there? What would you have told him the value is? (If this is a question you can answer without spoiling the film for those of us who haven't seen it.)

Comments: Dallas, just saw the video of that guy going nuts at the screening. Miraculous. Can't wait to see the film. I was thinking of the incredibly urbane and classy conversation we were having about Harry and Tonto (the movie about Art Carney and his cat) and juxtaposing it with what this twit must think you are like.

Comments: First, thanks to everyone who've offered congratulations. It's appreciated. Second, a bit of news -- a woman fainted in the aisle toward the ending of last night's packed-house premier of THE WOMAN at Sundance. When the movie was over a middle-aged man went into a rant about how the film exploited not only women but men too. Sounds like a hit to me! JOHN -- see you at NECON, then. DEREK -- thanks for recommending BLACK HAWK DOWN. Meant to pick that one up at some point but forgot about it. ALYSON -- NECON it is! JIMBO -- I started "writing" by making up little stories with my soldiers, cowboys, dinosaurs, knights and pirates down by the brook that ran behind my house. Then as a teenager, physically writing, I wrote dark sad poetry which had the dual effect of getting that stuff out of me and making me seem attractive to a certain kind of girl. Then I started copying licks from Robert Bloch and Ray Bradbury and the pulp writers. What do I think of today's "extreme horror?" SAW was good. SAW 3 wasn't. There's always good and bad, period. Horror has always sought to be provocative. When it works, fine. When it doesn't...best, D

Comments: Hi Jack

As you can tell from my numerous post I am a huge fucking fan of yours. I was wondering what made you want to become a writer? I now many writers (myself include) get asked this question numerous times and you are most likely bored of this question but I am extremely curios.
Also how do you feel about more extreme horror movies becoming mainstream? Including the likes of Martyrs and Inside and the numerous ''Torture Porn'' flicks ( a label I fucking detest with a passion) and even your adaptations?

I can't wait for the release of Woman and I am to finally getting around to reading Only Child- I have never read a book by you that has disappointed me they have all been out of this fucking world.

Peace (and please keep the great tales coming)
