These stories are more than 'horror' I imagine a great many ppeople are missing out because they may not read them as such. The horror in the truth of humanity's cruelty is so much more difficult to face for many; so they preferr to look the other way. Monsters of imagination are more tolerable to many than reality. You might try WHEN SHE WAS GOOD, it's a bit more straightforward narrative. Hope you enjoy MASKS. The con you mean is RUE MORGUE. Don't know whether I'll be there or not this year. Keep an eye on my appearances page. MEGAN -- I've adapted THE PASSENGER -- Lucky McKee has an option on this, OFFSPRING (which got changed a lot in the shooting...hmmmmm...) LADIES' NIGHT, which I co-wrote with Stuart Gordon, and of course Lucky and I did THE WOMAN as both script and novel. I'm currently messing around with WEED SPECIES. BOB -- yeah, WINTER'S BONE's a good one. A lot on its mind...best to all, D 481 Fri April 15 2011 - 10:14:59 Fullname: Bob Hinton Email: peteboiler@hotmail.com Comments: Sucks about your back, Jack. You need anything, you let me know. I did see Winter's Bone and was blown away by the guy who played Teardrop. Amazing performance. Very DARK film. Even found it creepy. But a very surprising, emotional film that I highly recommend as well. Get better soon! 482 Fri April 15 2011 - 06:14:35 Fullname: Ketchum Email: Comments: I'll weigh in on this Roth etc. subject soon but my back's been out bigime so that means I've watched a few movies lying on my back. I thought briefly about adapting my NaNo'10 novel for the screen, but decided against it. Did you ever try adapting your own novel for screen or graphic novel? 485 Thu April 07 2011 - 01:03:02 Fullname: john Email: Comments: You gotta stick with it until the end for the pay off. I wouldn't say I'm advanced, it's about being open to different styles of fiction, maybe. I don't know. I just don't get it , I think my masks book by ketchum and lee has just come in the mail whooo hoo!! 487 Wed April 06 2011 - 00:42:17 Fullname: John Email: Comments: "Portnoy's Complaint" is brilliant... I just finished re-reading "The Painted Bird" by Jerzy Kosiński. Man, I forgot how great that book is. I think that I may order sleep disorders on it's own - I am reading at the moment portnay's complaint by Philip Roth - I don't know what the heck I'm reading, he is all over the place- It has it's funny parts, but - It's a bit slow for my liking, picked it up after the comments here on the author- Loved this wicked world - I have all your movies that were made into films 489 Tue April 05 2011 - 17:04:53 Fullname: Ketchum Email: Comments: ...and you can now watch OFFSPRING via Netflix Instant (streaming)... 490 Tue April 05 2011 - 15:29:41 Fullname: Ketchum Email: Comments: Crossroads have now published SLEEP DISORDER, the book of stories I did with Edward Lee, as an e-book. I wanted to send you some issues of SHOCK TOTEM...as I wanted to try set up an interview with you in the future but wanted you to see what you'd be getting into, and make sure you'd be into it. I also wanted youto know I'm stoked to probably meet you at NECON this summer, it'll be my first convetion and I think with you and Skipp in attendance, the coolest thing I've ever been to. :) 492 Sun April 03 2011 - 14:47:07 Fullname: Ketchum Email: Comments: Recommendation -- T.C.Boyle's THE WOMEN, a novel about Frank Lloyd Wright and...his women. TIM -- JOHN's right. Keep walking. An actor friend of mine once told me, if you're any good and you hang in there, sooner or later you're going to get noticed. Tim, as a fellow writer and an editor (of sorts), rejection makes the heart grow fonder and the writing stronger! I write for myself, for every piece I concoct that may have some slight chance at selling, I bet I have a dozen that have a snowflakes chance in hell, but I love 'em all. Keep writing...we entertain the world. And Mr. Ketchum, if you're so inclined could you drop me an email sometime. I'm not going to stalk you, I assure you, I just have a question to ask. Have a great weekend all!! Be safe and happy! 494 Fri April 01 2011 - 02:22:01 Fullname: Tim J. Hopefully, by this year's Rock and Shock (yes I'm that Tim the struggling writer) I will have some positive news on my submissions. Since rejections are a step in a writer's development, I'm walking a hundred miles this year. 495 Tue March 29 2011 - 22:21:15 Fullname: Gail Gowland Email: Comments: Thank you Jack for the insight to the book masks.
