info@davecook.biz Comments: Tammy, if you're reading this, I'm awfully sorry to hear about those fires in California. Hopefully the wind will die down real soon, so that the fire services can get everything under control. I saw them battling away on TV and it looks as though they’re doing a great job. Until then, I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for you! Dave.

In the meantime I will indeed offer Robin your best wishes. We still talk once or twice a week, and with each call lasting upwards of 1 1/2 hours, I’d hate to have to pay his mobile phone bill!! :-)

Give my regards to Robin next time you 'see' him.

info@davecook.biz Comments: Hi Pat, PC Answers? That’s a Future Publishing magazine, isn’t it? Yeah, that’s a good choice for ex-PPC readers because it seems to be a very hands-on mag, much like PPC used to be. As for the PPC conference on CIX, well, when Robin eventually gets himself back online, we can maybe have a laugh or three right here on this board.
While I’m writing this, btw, I’m keeping an eye on Channel 4’s The 100 Scariest Moments on TV. I’m minded of my first real experience of watching horror on the small screen, a mini-series called Quatermass And The Pit - not the movie, of course, that came later – and boy was that scary! I think I watched most of it from behind the sofa! :-)

info@davecook.biz Comments: Hi Tammy, it sounds as though you had a great time in Julian. In fact, after all that hiking and shopping I bet you and Dave are ready for a couple of days rest before you go back to work! When it comes to wanting to read early in life, Tammy, I was much the same as you – desperate to learn to read so that I could discover what was so fascinating about all those funny little squiggles on the printed page. Talking of F. Paul Wilson, I read TOMB way back in 1987, even before I got round to reading THE DJIIN, which was my first ever Graham Masterton novel. As for A GIFT TO DIE FOR, I’m delighted (and somewhat relieved) that you enjoyed it. Meanwhile, please don’t forget to spread the word over there in beautiful California! My next book won’t be until next year, I’m afraid, owing to these creaky old bones playing up a bit too much for my liking. Hopefully, though, there’ll be no stopping me once I get my medication sorted! :-) Thanks again for your kindness....

tamziam@hotmail.com Comments: Hi Dave
Thanks for your anniversary wishes. We had a wonderful time. I finished your book & I absolutely loved it!! Anything new in the making?? Put me on the list for a copy please!! A GIFT TO DIE FOR was a great story, with wonderful charachters & just the right amount of suspense!! As you noticed, I am a very speedy reader. I read probably 2-4 books a week depending on my schedule. I have been reading since a very early age-took away Daddy's newspaper at 2 1/2 years-been hooked on words ever since. Found some great buys at a used book store in Julian, a copy of TENGU by our Graham Masterton, and a out of print Horror anthology from the early 70's. Also picked up a couple of books by F Paul Wilson. We had a great trip-lots of hiking, shopping, & Julian's famous apple pie. Well, goodnight for now-off to sleep-Have a great day.
Peace, Tammy

info@davecook.biz Comments: Hi Michael, you’ve played max payn 2 already? Sheesh, you don’t hang about. It’s a single player game isn’t it? Pity, otherwise I’d pop round there and challenge you to a game or three. Oh, and thanks again for bumping up my book sales.
