138 Tue November 30 1999 - 11:58:28 Fullname: Aaron Tunn Email: tunnag@ihug.com.au Comments: Dear Chris, I am currently trying to complete the collection of Christopher Fowler books. Of all your books published, "More City Jitters" is the hardest to find. ("City Jitters" was difficult enough) I realize that many of the books are no longer published, thus I have been asking at second hand bookshops, but to no avail. Some have never heard of you or never see your books. Any suggestions on how to get a copy? How is Calabash coming along? Love the books, keep up the good work. Regards, Aaron Melbourne, Australia PS. If any fellow readers have a copy of More City Jitters and are willing to part with it, you can contact me on the email address. Thanks!! 139 Tue November 16 1999 - 00:30:30 Fullname: Brad Montgomery Email: MontgomeryBrad@hotmail.com Comments: Mr. Fowler, I was delighted to hear that Roofworld will be made into a film! I recently "borrowed" a copy from my local library because I thought I would never be able to find another copy! I am extremely excited to have heard this news. After reading Roofworld years ago I thought that if I ever had enough money I would make this novel into a movie. The dark imagery of your work captured my imagination so much that I often dreamed of soaring between the rooftops. Please see that the film retains the dark edge that made the story great. Thank you for Roofworld, and thank you for promoting it as a film. -Brad Montgomery 140 Sat November 06 1999 - 00:45:13 Fullname: Jason Gould Email: jasong@kuhcc.demon.co.uk Comments: Chris -- Just reviewed Dark Terrors 4 for Infinity Plus; should be up soon. Normal Life was superb. At first I thought it was going to be just another serial killer story, then I finished it and I realised it was a J G Ballard-esque commentary on modern society, told in your own style. Nice direction. By the way, Kentish Town in Neon Lit was....well, superb. An ordinary Wed. night and I managed to catch the last train of the evening. I stepped off the lift, my heels echoing, and made my way to the eerily deserted platform. 'What a setting for a Chris Fowler book' I thought to myself and I casually glanced up at the message board. 'Rayner's Lane - 2 mins'it said. Suddenly it flashed 'Correction' and all I could think of was THE scene in Rune (my absolute favourite scene - that is, sitting at home in my comfy bed). The message board snapped back to 'Rayner's Lane' and in those excruciatingly long 2 minutes I had completely sobered up and swore to myself I'd never read another horror book. Thanks, Chris, for showing us the flip side of normality and keep scaring the hell out of us. 143 Wed August 11 1999 - 17:33:12 Fullname: David Lloyd Email: david@chapelfarm.freeserve.co.uk Comments: Hello Christopher, I've just bought what I assume is your latest collection of 22 new stories. I'm looking forward to reading it,but having read the intro I must ask you, is "Bob" by any chance Billy Childish ? By the way I enjoyed your thorough slagging off of Rochester. I flinched like a true masochist at every insult. I can't believe the tourist board have the nerve to try and attract people there. Mind you I feel like that about England generally. Thanks, David 144 Tue July 13 1999 - 05:56:39 Fullname: Sharif Nakhleh Email: Snakhleh@hotmail.com Comments: I have a question. Do you know of any horror/sci fi books that have been written about Electrical Manipulation of the Brain through implants? 145 Fri June 25 1999 - 11:56:39 Fullname: Louis Martin Email: 94389128@mmu.ac.uk Comments: Hi there.I'm a reputable northern actor who would be much obliged about any tips of how to get into some decent films.Thanks. 146 Mon June 21 1999 - 14:03:01 Fullname: Christopher Fowler Email: chris@sohocp.co.uk Comments: A quick update. The script for 'Roofworld' has been delivered by Jonathan (Phantom Menace) Hales. My short story collection (a mix of old and new) hits the stands in a couple of weeks, and is called UNCUT. Also delivered: A new novel entitled CALABASH, set in an English seaside town and ancient Persia. Trust me on this. Any news? 148 Sun June 06 1999 - 14:07:50 Fullname: Charles Dawes Email: Comments: Christopher Fowler is a wonderful writer! Recently I have read both PSYCHOVILLE and DISTURBIA, and I must say that these are two thrilling books. I can`t understand why more people read his books (although this is also sadly true of many other dark fiction writers). It`s rumoured that Disturbia is to be made into a film, so hopefully Christopher will gain a lot of recognition from this. 149 Fri May 28 1999 - 10:06:09 Fullname: Leslie O'Laoghaire Email: liamfan@mac-email.com Comments: I just read "Armies of the Heart" and now I want to read everything Fowler has written. I love this kind of 'discovery.' 150 Mon May 24 1999 - 08:50:42 Fullname: Andy f Email: andyfair@aol.com Comments: Dear visitor - This is a new version of the message board which should be self archiving.
