I am looking for a pattern for what I believe is called "gunner mittens" from Newfoundland and/or the gray/white mittens I haven't seen in years. I'm not sure if your pattern is one and the same. The only thing I can find on the Net so far, is a pattern for "thrum" mittens and that's not what I'm looking for.
