Comments: Nice site. Am seeking information on ggg/grandfather, Rev. William A. Hallock. He was born in Peekskill, NY in 1770. Became orphaned at age 12. Married Catherine DeGroat in 1794. He was ordained a Methodist/Episcopalian be Bishop Asbury. They moved to Elizabethtown, ONT in 1800. Their first child, Catherine was born in 1804, followed by 4 sons including my gg/grandfather Benjamin. He and brother William moved to Meaford, ONT. There Benjamin married Elizabeth (surname unknown) and they had 9 children. Including my g/grandfather, Lorenzo Dow Hallock born in 1851. He married Sarah Viola Dewstow around 1871. They had 3 sons including grandfather Alfred Dow. And a daughter who apparently died very young as nothing can be found on her. Having a difficult time finding who took William in during his tender years. Also Elizabeth's surname, parents, siblings, etc. Too many brick walls thrown up in my quest. Lorenzo's family eventually moved to the Detroit area. Benjamin and Elizabeth remained in Meaford. She passed away in 1888, he in 1892. Both are buried in Lakeview Cemetery. Rev. William was an early minister of the Wall Street United Church in Brockville (Elizabethtown). He passed away in 1836 and is buried in Lyn Cemetery in Brockville. Catherine and rest of family seemed to have disappeared after his death. Thanks. Bev

Apparently my link is Isaac Allerton I, Isaac II, Isaac III, Jesse Allerton, Zachariah Allerton, John Allerton Sr., John Allerton, Hirman Allerton and then Eva Allerton, my gggrandmother. This info has been passed on through the generations. Isaac and Fear Brewster were married and start my line. Love Brewster (your husband's line) was Fear Brewter's sister. The descrepancy comes at Isaac III level and lack of concrete proof and something about his father's will reading. Thank you for such a beautiful site. Michele

Comments: I am descended from George Hutchinson who arrived in 1630 reportedly "with the Winthrop Fleet." His (only?) son, Nathaniel Hutchinson, was born in Charlestown, MA, in 1632. On the same ship with George were Thomas Hutchinson and Richard Hutchinson. I do not know their relationship to George.
If I remember the story correctly, William and Anne Hutchinson were supposed to come over the year before, but Anne was pregnant and could not make the trip. So, they sent their oldest son, Edward Hutchinson, over with his uncle, Edward (?) Hutchinson. They found some land and built a log cabin for the family to live in.
Reportedly, Anne and William and the rest of their children (11?, including infant) sailed in 1634, and settled in Boston (?).
If George, Thomas, and Richard Hutchinson arrived in 1630, and Edward (?) Hutchinson arrived in 1633, and William arrived in 1634, I was wondering if anyone has discovered whether or not these men were related.
.. My George Hutchinson settled in the town which became known as Winchester, MA. His descendants lived in Winchester from the early 1600's up to the mid-1900's. ("Hutchinson Farms" on Ridge Street)

I have an "Allen- Gould - Hill" document from the Genealogical Society of Utah (Mormons)from 1940 that says Jonathan Hill (1) came from Wales thru England in 1655 -1657 and settled on Prudence Island,R.I. Apparently Jonathan was friends and neighbors with William Allen in Wales and William Allen settled near him on Prudence Island. I also have another source from R.I. that says Jonathan was from Wales. I have been researching this line for the past 7 years. What are your thoughts?

Comments: Looks like your information corresponds with what my aunt, Harriet Curtis Nielson researched over 50 years ago. I am a descendant (12th generation) of Anne & William Hutchinson, through their daughter Susanna who was born 1633 in England and came to America with her parents and 9 brothers and sisters, on the ship Griffin, which arrived in Boston 16 September 1634. At age 9, Susanna survived the Indian massacre in 1643 at Pelham Bay, NY, during which her mother, and 5 brothers and sisters and a brother-in-law were all killed. She was carried into captivity and lived with the Indians 4 years.
I am presently writing a biographical/historical novel about Susanna, and of course her famous (infamous) mother, Anne Marbury Hutchinson.
I hope to finish it and will probably self-publish it in 2003.
I am glad to get your information. Alta Hunt

Comments: Hello! I have just started my genealogy research. My father's name is Robert Stanley Brewster, born 1/4/45. His father is Harold Brewster, unsure of when he was born, but died in the mid-70s. Is there any chance of a connection between my line and the Brewster line described on this site? Thx!
